Wildflower Art Trip

Join Renata and Casey Australia Tours for 6 days, sketching, painting, photographing and simply enjoying the beauty of some of Western Australia’s best wildflowers. All levels of painters invited. Tutoring provided in the evenings to allow for painting flexibility during the day.

West Australian Wildflowers Itinerary Details

Day 1: From Perth we travel along the Indian Ocean Drive to the Pinnacles in Nambung National Park for our first painting opportunity in these interesting limestone formations. After lunch we travel on to Dongara, our home for three nights.  1 hour art tutorial this evening.

Day 2: Via Mingenew to Coalseam National Park for morning tea then painting and lunch. Everlastings cover the ground in good years. We will have plenty of time to view, paint and photograph the beautiful wildflowers and breakaway scenery then return to Dongara.  1 hr art tutorial in the evening.

Day 3: A morning visit to Geraldton’s HMAS Sydney Memorial. South to the Greenough heritage precinct for painting, 150 year old buildings scattered with the famous Greenough windswept trees. Return to Dongara.  1 hr art tutorial in the evening.

Day 4: To Mullewa to see the flowers at its hillside lookout, and visit the Mullewa Wildflower Show in the Town Hall. Onto Pindar and travel via the lovely countryside to Tardun and another walk in the wildflowers to photograph and sketch. Onto Canna’s old camp site for a delightful lunch amongst the Everlastings. Across to the Yalgoo Morawa Road to see the beautiful Wreath Leschenaultia, a unique flower often growing in disturbed gravel. Onto Morawa for a short break and south to Dalwallinu for two nights.  1 hour art tutorial this evening

Day 5: The Shire of Dalwallinu is home to more variety of Wattle (Acacia) than any other region. We paint some of the sights of the town and surrounding bushland. Returning mid-afternoon for to prepare for a final night art showing.  Final evening art showing.

Day 6: Morning visit to the Coomberdale Wildflower Farm for a very interesting talk and display of locally grown wildflowers. Through Moora to the beautifully restored Monastic Town of New Norcia on the Victoria Plains. Into Perth via the gentle hillside farmlands of Bindoon.
