Amber is my new favourite spider – a marbled orb weaver. I wish we could find these in Australia, but alas, they are only found elsewhere (northern parts of America and some parts of Europe). The scientific name for this spider is araneus marmoreus. It’s also called the pumpkin spider because of it’s round, fat, orange body.

This original watercolour painting was created on 300 gsm cold pressed watercolor paper with vegan and environmentally friendly paints, brushes and paper. It measures 30 cm x 21 cm which includes an on off-white mount measuring 3.5 cm on each side.
